Good Robot is lucky to partner with some sexy Halifax restaurants to allow you a culinary experience we are incapable of providing ourselves. And when these fine establishments aren't around, we have a small selection of chips and dips, finger foods and assorted gorgeables from local caterers.
Every Tuesday through Thursday beginning at 4:00 pm, Black Sheep Restaurant owners John House and Dave Woodley fire up a rotation of small plates from their diverse and eclectic menu. These gents are beauties, and their rotating menu is no different: fried chicken in a honey ginger glaze, corn tostadas with refried beans and fish or tofu, and a house-made andouille sausage burger have rounded out some of their offerings.
Every Friday and Sunday at noon, our friends Tony and Sam Rinaldo prepare classic Italian-American heros and pair them with a sense of humour. While classically trained in Lyon and Montreal, Tony prefers the casual yet delectable (and foul-mouthed) style he discovered while cooking in Brooklyn. Whether you stick with classical options like the eggplant parm or meatball heros, or opt for something a little more off-kilter like the marinated tofu hero, you will always be guaranteed a great hoagie with everything made from scratch, from the condiments to the bread. And on Sundays, they offer brunch sandwiches, like the crispy porchetta with a farm-fresh egg.
Late night, you can find a rotating array of catered snacks from local establishments. Chips, dips, Jamaican patties, Mediterranean bites, and who knows what else? Suggestions welcome.
